Many Taiwanese people have two dreams. One is climb up the highest mountain in Taiwan. The mountain’s name is Yushan. Another is travelling around Taiwan by bicycle. In November 2011, I achieved one of my dreams. I traveled around Taiwan by bicycle. I plan to climb up  Yushan next year.

Taiwan is suitable to travel around. Because Taiwan is a small island. Taiwan total length is about 1,000 kilometers. In general, travelling around Taiwan by bicycle probably takes 7 to 10 days. The Taiwanese government has an environmental protection policy. This is to set up convenience and well-found bicycle lane in many cities.

In addition, On Taiwan's main roads there are many bicycle rest stations. Most 7-11 convenience stores and police stations are also bicycle rest stations. They provide a tyre pump and simple repair tools. For bicyclists, this is very convenient.

While I was traveling by myself. I was only one girl. When I wanted to use a toilet, but it’s unsafe to lease my bike and bags out side. Luckily the police were so nice to me. While I was using their toilets, they looked after my bike. When I came out, they gave me water. While I was drinking the water, they prepared fruit for me to eat. In my trip, I visited about 50 police stations. A police officer who lives in Taiwan south Fangliao. While I was looking for a hotel in Fangliao, he said: ”Why don’t you stay my house? ” Then, I stayed at his house one night for free. Taiwanese people are so warm and friendly. I thank them very much.
